Safety Controls Neff’s trademarked Hydro-Guard® Plus control system meets all OSHA and ANSI B11.2 (1995) standards for control reliability. Neff’s Slide Lock system protects the operator in the event of a total hydraulic failure. This feature mechanically stops slide movement throughout the entire stroke. Various sizes are available to accommodate customers top die shoe weight.

Massive welded frame This unitized welded frame is among the most rugged available in today’s marketplace. Finite Element Analysis on each frame design ensures the press will absorb and distribute the forces in a uniform manner. The large mainframe members provide maximum resistance against deflection and ensures accurate performance and press longevity.

Box Type Bed and Slide Construction The large box type bed construction is reinforced to provide low deflection characteristics. Standard bed deflection is +/- .001”/ft. Neff can custom design any of their presses to meet even more stringent specifications. Slide is also internally reinforced. This design provides maximum stability and rigidity for large precision/progressive dies. Neff’s ram connection allows accurate alignment of the slide after gib adjustment. Collar design helps distribute off-center loads and withstand snap-through in blanking operations.

Precise Alignment/ Rugged Gib Design Non-metallic 8-point adjustable wedge type gibbing is the most accurate method to align and guide the slide. Large bearing contact results in greater off-center load capabilities.

Bed and Slide Bolsters The massive bed bolster is removable, which allows for the addition of cushions for deep draw work. Both the bed bolster and slide are machined with 1” t-slots on 12” centers running front to back. Neff can custom machine bed and slide bolsters to meet the customer’s specific requirements. Neff will return your layout drawing for approval prior to the build cycle. Bed and slide deflection has a standard tolerance of +/- .001”/ft.

Hydraulic System Neff’s engineering expertise is showcased in its compact self-contained power unit. Neff offers power units in 30HP-150HP, depending on the application. Production efficiency and reliability can be assured with Neff’s multiple advance speeds, tonnage control, and built in decompression circuit. Precise control of the ram is possible because there is constant oil pressure on both the cap end of the cylinder and the rod end. This feature offers maximum control of the ram and allows for cushioning to prevent damaging effects of break through shock. Tonnage control is achieved by controlling the pressure on the high-pressure pumps. Neff’s built in tonnage overload system ensures the customer that should the tonnage exceed the preset value, the ram will automatically stop and prevent damage to the material or tooling.
